and the head of the numbskull with the idea that IBM stop selling computers through retail stores is no doubt working on his resume today.


It would seem that any announcement of this magnitude would have surely been researched from a legal aspect, not to mention from a strategy perspective as well. It would seem odd that IBM wouldn't have thoroughly gone over each scenario and its expected response and impact from their channel and retailers. But who knows, this is big blue we're talking about - not always the sharpest knives in the drawer when it comes to strategy.
