Binx and Thread,

re: What's your take?

Private Placement of Convertible Preferred Shares

"Lexar is a 'pure play' investment in the digital photography market," said Rob Stone, Senior Analyst, SG Cowen Securities Corporation. "They've done a terrific job of branding their digital film and are leading the market in providing innovative new products like USB-enabled CompactFlash, which we believe will provide them a sustainable competitive advantage."

I hardly see a difference between a USB card reader and a JumpShot cable with a USB-enabled CF card.

Over a year ago I added the software driver for my SanDisk parallel port ImageMate CompactFlash card reader and I have had no problems since. Is JumpShot a real technological advance or is this just hype?

I spoke too soon in post # 7779.

I emailed (StevenKent@aol.com)to ask if MSNBC had followed up.

I got the following reply (disinformation) from Steve.
<< Did MSNBC ever issue a correction to your story? >>

I sent the correction in as soon as I heard about it--stating only that other
units sported Flash Memory. They must have done some research because they
altered the story to say:

"Obviously the Diamond Rio, Creative Labs Nomad and RCA Lyra all appeared on
store shelves before Memory Stick Walkman, but all of these units except the
Rio have only built-in storage. With Memory Stick Walkman as with Rio and
its flash port you could conceivably carry extra Memory Sticks to expand
your music selection."
