Good points. IBM poor results should make MSFT a screaming buy. I think it will only add to MSFT's momentum as people realize how extraordinary this company is.
IBM probably lost a lot of biz to Sunw as well---as Sunw has been reporting good earnings.
In addition Gateway had a good earnings report signaling an
IBM specific problem.
It makes sense and the Nas futures are coming back as they should.

microsoft not as strong as one would expect based on past quarter and outlook. must be anxiety over impending verdict.

not knowing the decision (or even the date of the announcement) until after market on announcement day, makes it more difficult to play options.

you would almost have to buy a leap to assure having it cover the verdict.
