America Online, the No. 1 online service, will invest $800 million in cash and stock in Gateway, the No. 2 direct seller of personal computers

So AOL had to pay $.8 Billion to be installed on Gateway, who is #2.

@home on the other hand didn't need to pay anything to be installed on Compaq and Dell (who are both #1 in their catagories).

Whats that say?

P.S. AOL is fairly cash poor and most of that $800 million is cash. Looks like they are going to have to borrow money to buy their way onto the Gateways desktop.
