I actually think Eckerd's could be worth more than the current stock price. Eckerd seems to keep up double digit same sales growth - not too dissimilar from other drug chains.

I saw sales estimates where J.C. Penny was among the top 25 in Internet retailers (completely outdistanced by vendors like Amazon, E-bay, AOL of course, but still competitive with most other vendors) - something like 75 million in sales if I recall correctly. It's not much compared to their overall sales, but it tells me that someone is awake and thinking. I also see this new buy-on-internet-and-pick-up-at-store delivery system that some retailers have started implementing (i.e. save the cost of delivery) - that would be ideal for J.C. Penny.

When I went though my calculations before I thought it could be worth about $75 using the sum of the two parts. Nothing has really happened to change that.
