I am confused by your thoughts here. Why get TDMA commitment from box makers and have the high switching costs to impede conversion later. Hell, they will want to probably put GPRES and EDGE on top of it.

I think you understood what I was trying to say. I don't think the TDMA (to me that includes GSM) operators are going to give up on their investment until their spectrum is used up and the quickest way to get to that point is with bandwidth hungry data. All who have moaned about MSFT bloatware may see how this may actually benefit CDMA.

GPRS and EDGE are not here and don't work yet. Will they ever work? One thing's for sure. They won't work as well as CDMA.
