ABC is owned by Disney which is why 20/20 gave that Mickey Mouse report. It seems that shoddy reporting is the norm today and anyone can do it and if they have enough influence can get away with it by scaring people. Just like Tice did with his shoddy B.S. report on TYC.

"I did not have sex with that woman" - every time I look at TV I see lies and crap mongering all over the place. Must be the 90's - anything goes. "Whatever, whatever, whatever."

I think you are right when you say that people believe what they hear and see on 20/20. For the most part this thread is much more in tune with technology in general and ia bale to see through the weaknesses in the report, but the general public reacts to these things. Look what 20/20 did to Disney a while ago - it tanked after a report by the same reporter.

There was a risky play here in anticipation of this report - if any company is going to see a backlash it is MOT. I don't think it will even last the day. Buying November PUTS. The ones that are most attractive are the November $75's around 13/16ths. If MOT drops $5 - $10 at the start you can pocket some good coin for a couple of hours work. This is not for everyone cause there is risk - but there is also great time premium on these. If it stays even or goes up you have lost a bit and some in/out.

Watch in the morning and see.

By the way, QCOM may drop if the telco sector gets some backlash here but I don't think it will be long term. We all know the difference between analog and digital but there are a lot of people who are nearly as educated and to them a cell phone is a cell phone - thank god most people think MOT makes most of them.

The ABC board in response to the 20/20 show is almost entirely negative on the report. Many folks pointed out the deficiency of not testing digital phones and worse that ABC tested dual mode phones only in the analog mode. Many pointed out that analog is not where it's at; that they have digital.
