Of course you know if INTC were to announce the CAMINO chip tomorrow both DELL & RMBS will fly regardless of Q3 perception and all the rest of the negative jitters. There is wide spread manipulation to keep things mundane currently. As soon as they get ready perceptions will be changed in a heart beat. And don't ask who "they" are cause all I can tell you is I'm not one of them. Just realize there is too much flimflam antic's causing flipflop results for me to believe all is on the up and up. Why we would have a better chance of surviving if someone threw grease under our feet in the middle of the street they to try and make a profit in these conditions!

Morning Rudy,..Re:.valuable lesson last year with CPQ - knowing a lot about the company is no guarantee that I will see the underlying issues, especially if I am willing to "write off" the things that don't fit.

Thanks very much for an excellent post. I've also been concerned that we are not objectively evaluating either industry or Dell specific challenges. Your statement above illustrates exactly what I did with respect to parts shortages which later turned out to be DRAM price pressures??? Yikes, what a surprise?

It seems that if hard earned money is at risk, then the only responsible way to manage these risks is by objectively examining all alternatives or possible outcomes.

Cheers to you,

Lee

Your post addresses one of the reasons I do not post as much as I once did on this thread. What is most valuable to me about the thread is the discussion of facts and rumors about the company and the industry.

Rudedog: Thanks for the wonderful series of thoughtful well-reasoned posts. I think you are putting a face to a good deal that is left unsaid on the thread. Keep them coming!
Cheers
