cfoent. It is difficult and theoretically impossible for scientific research to prove a negative. Theoretically, you really can't prove in any short time period that cell phones don't contribute to brain cancer. The left land & left cancer approach would be good, but here again, it would take years to run a research project on digital.

I would expect pressure to phase out analog and design phones having antennas like the Star Tack---oriented away from the head. All this is good for QCOM. Phones aren't going away. We will just 1) replace existing phones with safer phones (more parts shortages), 2) replace analog base stations so none of those nasty analog phones will be needed, 3) favor CDMA over all others because it requires lower radiated energy than TDMA and much lower that analog, 4) ban the new TDMA data transmission scheme-called GRPS or some similar acronymn,5) replace existing phones with phones having antennas pointed away from the head, 6) rapidly expand all digital networks like Sprint PCS and the VOD/BAM venture, 7) speed NExtel into service as clearly safe alternatives.
For QCOM this means Ka Ching, Ka Ching as more ASICS are sold to replace the millions of analog phones.
