Nokia sets 2000 sales growth target at 25-35 pct

HELSINKI, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia sees its sales returning to its long-term growth target of 25 to 35 percent after expected expansion of over 40 percent this year, the group's head said on Thursday.

``We remain fully committed to our previously stated long-term sales growth target of 25 to 35 percent also for the year 2000,' Chief Executive Jorma Ollila told a conference call after Nokia reported higher third-quarter earnings.

Nokia's third-quarter pretax profit jumped 36 percent to 937 million euros ($1.01 billion), and its Q3 sales rose 49 percent to 5.04 billion euros, with business especially strong in its handset division where sales rose 58 percent.

JHY,

Do you know for certain if INTC is scrapping plans to reuse .18 equipment b/c of yield issues? This would be great news for the sector.

The TSMC news can only help Lam's chances of being named the INTC CMP tool of choice.

Here's hoping that all goes right and we hit your "MIGHT MIGHT" projection:-)

Brian

Another brilliant analysis!
I sure hope some smart brokerage doesn't snag you from us!

Are you going to the Annual Meeting?
Perhaps we should have a SI "Lammie" lunch afterwards?
It starts at 11AM... maybe they'll feed us?
I've never been but might consider this one just to clap for the company and say "Thanks"!
[and they can say thanks for buying when we were at $10!] 8)
