Good morning Frank.

This is too bad you buying IBM at 134. I never bought into it again within the last year. I guess it's not the analysts fault this time around. IBM is stating that the next qtr will be affected by Y2K and instead of growing by 15% it's supposed to be down about 4%? IBM said that buyers are waiting until after Y2K. I think IBM will be a good buy again by the first qtr. of next year.

Well, we certainly can't say that this has been a dull market for us. Maybe Y2K will be more trouble short term than we expected. The techs may be a laggard for a while, at least some of them. GTW seems to be doing fine, especially with this AOL alliance. Too bad we didn't have a crystal ball on that news item. GTW would have been a good buy. Someone asked me about GTW the other day and I was not much of a help. I had just heard that GTW may have some problems also. So much for that. It came in great.

Dell is feeling IBM's woes. But I am holding. All this should have blown over in a cpl of months. Who knows, even sooner. Oct. has been a pretty bad months and come Nov. things have been mostly looking up. Hopefully it will hold true this time.

The DOW and NAZ are holding up pretty well so far, considering this mess with IBM. At least we know now why EMC is going down. Sales to IBM have have been cut. EMC should be a good buy any day now. I am tempted now but will hold off a bit and see what gives.

My portfolio is holding its own today thanks to a cpl of stocks like VRSN and AOL and some of the drugs. Do you still own WLA, Merck and PFE? That should have made up for some of the losses in the other things.

Hope things don't get worse again when it's generally selling time around 1:30. We had enough selling this morning and the DOW and NAZ have come back nicely at this time. Losses almost cut in half.

Do you still own MO? Only good thing about that stock now is the 7% yield. This FLA case is putting the screws to MO.

Talk to you later again. I was on SI only once yesterday. It was a pretty hectic day for me. Nothing to do with stocks though. gg.

I am reducing my margin a bit more today on stocks that have been pretty flat. No sense carrying those stocks on margin with no gains.

Intel holding up pretty well also.

Frank and Nokia holders.

Funny market for me today. AOL, Drugs, Vrsn and Nokia are keeping me in the green. Your QCOM is doing great also. Sheesh. MO down to 22 something, so I guess the dividend is now better than 7%. If this stuff keeps up I don't know how the cos. will survive. I guess smokers have to grow there own tobacco. My wife says they grew it themselves overseas during the war. Her father was a smoker until he was 71. Unchecked high blood pressure got him then. If those cos. may go down the drain anyhow, maybe she should join those suits. Naw, I guess not, even though there were NO warnings on those packs back then. I have certain health problems. I wonder if I should sue for that. Lots of stuff out there I could blame for this. As long as nobody blames me. gg. Again. Maybe we should live on air and water alone. But I don't think that stuff is not totally safe either. Oh well.

Here is an article on Nokia. You do own it? I guess wireless IS the future.

Frank. Another good article on Nokia. Too bad I can't find articles like that on some of our other techs.
