Richard,

Neither you nor I have any evidence that Hillary traded any gold commodities. Were it true, I'm sure that Bill Murphy would have been in touch with Matt Drudge in order to expose it and bring national attention to his "qwest".

As for loaning US gold.. again.. apparently the president of the World Gold Organization just stated that US reserves cannot be sold or loaned.

Now if they loan them within the Federal Reserve system, that obviously does not qualify.

Get off the Bill & Hill tripp, Richard... It has nothing to do with economics or the POG. I don't like them, and neither do you... it is not worth the bandwidth to even incorporate them into a discussion of gold.

Regards,

Ron

Do you not even wish to address the reasons why gold & silver forward sales are allowed as many as 10 years in advance of production? does this not distort prices? Why is the same practice not allowed for any other commodity?

Gold and silver are the only commodities that the Central Banks have a 10 year supply of in their vaults,...I think that answers both the first and third questions above.

Yes it is distorting the price, that's one point we can all agree on,...the final equilibrium price if those storehouses of gold were withdrawn completely from the market is debatable. Also the amount that is still in the vaults, and what is going to happen to what is left are both debatable. I'm sure we would all like full disclosure on a timely basis in order to make our investment decisions. The more gold there is in public circulation, the more gold will be subject to scrap sales, and those scrap sales are becoming a bigger and bigger piece of the supply these days.

Private agreements and contracts between individuals and corporations are NOT regulated future contracts. Any commodity, terms, conditions, etc.. can be negotiated by the respective parties. I am sure there are forward sales in the food processing business that are not reported in the press, but can be found in the 10K.
