You've put it in a nutshell.

Not often do you get a chance to get in on a well-run, fast growing company that's been hurt by a problem that's more perception than real. Sort of like signing a major league player hobbling around on crutches he/she doesn't need.

Not a perfect analogy, but you get the idea.
