Good talk about PA's etcs., All - in agreement "Rome won't be built in a day!" these stocks will be both quackable and holdable probably, but needs be watch it close, Nothing's Ever For Sure! (can't fuggeddabout "re-distribution of risk" LOL - if only some risk's about 2B distributed away from technets but let's get real...).
My broker told me GNET, other PA Companies, and the ipo are attracting some attention from more conservative clients than me, doubleplusgood! (hey Puna that Newspeak gets stuck in my head too, LOL!) IMHO, PA paulallen.com might B in competition with CMGI cmgi.com maybe...

CMCSK & CMCSA comcast.com - been flying off the radar lately, but lest we forget all those new rights to clients it's got from that T/UMG thing (i hold some, it's about at where i bought it again, split earlier this year & still movin on up inside its split-adjusted range)....& (tip) the SBC sbc.com long-awaited merger of Ameritech has finally taken place, didn't see any headlines for that one, did you? SBC's at about 45 now....one of my cores, as is/was AIT....hmmmm verrrrry interrrresting SBC bought Comcast Cellular in July & it's expanding scope - SBC/AIT both (now just SBC) Baby Bells.
Anyway, Must Say that IMHO putting a portfolio of tech & internet stocks out of sight for a year wouldn't be a good idea - moves too fast! Put most blue chips away for a year, OK...
Speaking of Quackers- IBM's about to be cheaper again...CNXT is a winner around its first 10/29 split.... MSFT, YHOO, GNET, LU, T, & AOL would probably be OK off the radar for a year but who can say what else really would be, let's face it!
GLBN - yep KLP i missed it up this time, quacked it back yonder but have kept away since it started to metamorphose -when it went thru a ticker change & reverse split - so it's kind of around it's high & what it'll do from here depends on interest in intl's & pennies & performance... Yep, All Of 'Em...Gotta watch 'em CLOSE - they change too fast to trust 'em....Like a hawk... some days i don't even look at (blue chip) cores but watch technets, read news, always. Speaking of watching 'em...GUESS WHAT?!! Looks like i'll FINALLY be getting my wireless internet gizmo! That's where i've been... yep It's to the point of GOTTA do something... teenage daughter & me sharing 1 phone line hooked to 1 computer has been becoming more difficult...& now she's into running a fan club & a website with 2 others for their favorite rock star on top of the homework & phone calls so even my howls of "dear, MY WORK is Our $urvival!" plain just ain't cutting it. Been sleeping odd hours for too long, stealing time to do my thing, can't take it for much longer! So it's either another phone line with another PC in here, or a multi-function mobile setup!! So, Back To The Wall About Now, I went shopping around again.
Looked at the mini-screens first...size & scope still too limited to keep up on stocks. So a laptop it is... remote data storage is as yet unavailable to small accounts like Joan Q Public...so that means a puter. So at yet another "wireless" store (beepers, walkietalkies, phones, Hey, where's the BEEF?!)... Got Lucky!!! - this time I Hope! - the owner's got a friend around the corner with a computer systems store. Went over there, talked to him... back to the wireless store again...& Hooray! they're going to work together to hook me up & soon! Will use Omnipoint Unlimited (cellphone gives wider area code range for free local calls can trim down my regular phone bill, should work out even $ afterall) with a Toshiba laptop (good puter, good choices of adapters he sez). The puter guy'll install the PC card for wireless and get the model #'s from omnipoint guy to find which phone/puter combo has the most adapters available.... so the laptop will be mostly my daughter's files in there & i'll access my stuff online from it...it'll be hers when she goes to college. By that time, getting another gizmo should be easy for me (2 years).
So now we'll be able to make a phone call while online and/or both be online at once... works all directions. Getting on & off my work as much as i've been doing to free the phone or puter, been driving me nuts.
So the CONSUMERSIDE SECTOR REPORT will continue as it goes!!
