Donnie:
This buy-and-hold effort is not as easy as it appears (as I am still learning)G
To get a feel for it, could look at Home Depot- going up from
$0.36 to $61 a share (170 times) since 1985
How many downers and flat spots ?
About one each year 15 months, 10 months, 11 months, 7 months
etc.
The one lasting for 3 years and 5 months was a real pain.
Dec of 1992 to May of 1996.......
And if they had SI like today, each day the bears( and even your friends) are saying to take the money and run, drop this dog, the Dow will never make it to 2700, the Dow is going to 1700,
there will be a crash in October.
Summary
The easiest stock I own is Plcm- nobody talks about it,
except one analyst raises his estimates every two weeks.
Am not sure anybody else even owns it.
If one has a popular buy-and-hold stock, there should be a law against having a discussion of it on SI. Look what
we do to Drew- telling him to sell Dogway .
BTW CPQ went to $19 range- any less and it becomes a
potential buy-out or take-over stock. Changes are coming.
