Did anyone see Dan Niles on CNBC this morning? I would like to put him on a deserted island with AG. :) They both invoke panic.

Rudedog: I appreciated reading your posts and I got caught in the Compaq disaster too, but I think you are dealing with an entirely different management style. I would hope that Dell earned by watching Compaq,so that they don't make the same mistakes. I do think that Miscrosoft and Intel have mastered the putting fear into the Street method and then suprising with better than expected earnings. Don't count Dell out. This might be another example of
under-promising for Q3 and over delivering on 11/18. Maybe they are going to use that approach too.

There is more going on than meets the eye and I would like to see what is really happpening... Some stability in the Market would be good.

hdl:<count on the sheep-until the bubble bursts>Although i very much agree with you, "hype" is a strange thing...Obviously, if the story is at all true, certain persons are not talking "hype"---that is, until their next next bigger idea crashes...at times, Mickey still slips, when he drops comments, sometimes at extremely sensitive moments--- but bunches of longs rush to his rescue... I brought up Clark here, because I believe the relevance is obvious....Is Dell larger than MSD?...I don't think so...If you read the Clark story carefully, what is happening to Clark's head, each time he goes back to Sand Hill Road, viewing even the top VC's as ducks after his crumbs...Not trying to tear down any perceptions here...What happens to your head, when you are worth more than $10 Billion?....In
Clark's case, he now says he'll stop if he has more than Larry Ellison...You aren't saying, that these issues don't relate to Dell, are you?
