Sounds like sour grapes to me. From those who think they "have knowledge" but are finding out they aren't so smart after all.<GG>

Alarmist? So Gerstner is an alarmist because he reports weak server sales due to customers? Certainly, Gerstner knows that his new servers are squeaky clean and his customers are knowledgeable enough to know it.

But I think it goes beyond that...markets and businesses don't like uncertainty. Maybe it's just a wait and see attitude about the negative effects of Y2K on the economy and their business.

Actually, I wish Y2K would be a non event. Unfortunately, I cannot dictate such things. I can only protect my investments the best I can.
Not addressing the problem is akin to sticking ones head in the sand.
You clearly see Y2K as no big deal from a technological standpoint. This isn't allowing for human psycology. And we all know markets run on psycology.
