Talk about confusion. It does not take a genius figure out that technology is heading from mainframe to webcentric in 21st century. This is just the beginning. IBM will be known more as a E-business solutions provider in future than a hardware mainframe producer. This is the beginning of that trend.

As to LU, Rich said that big software upgrades might be postponed until January by some customers that will result in smoothing of Dec. Q unlike before when they derived most of their profits in Dec Q, some of those profits will come in January Q. This phenomenon started in 1999. Overall fiscal 2000 projections were infact guided upwards by 5c. As an investor I don't care if they make it in Q1 or Q2 as long as they are growing.

IMP CLUES from the industry, CONEXANT reported super blow out today, a big vendor of ASCEND equipment, NOKIA reported a blow out indicative of strength in wireless, TLAB reported an excellent quarter. All these indicators point to a blow out Q at LU. I am expecting 200 million revenues more than expected and 3-5c more than expected. Just hang tight. IBM and LU are in different businesses.
