Gary, You may be on to something. the article mentions a bi-coastal effort. MRVC purchased the old Xyplex Networks which is based here in MA. Brian

Gary, re Zhone and the former ASND management that started it - per RedHerring they were to make an announcement today of a deal with a publicly traded company in the fiber optics field and were to use $500MM towards that purchase but at the last minute the deal fell apart. What's interesting is that Zhone is advertising job openings in Westlake Village CA and the Boston area. ASND has/had offices nearby in both areas - and of interest is the fact that so does MRVC which is in fiber optics very heavily; you get the points here if that's what they were working on since you mentioned MRVC yesterday.
