Jeffry White: Chart patterns can be adjusted depending on price action. Also, sometimes a pattern may morph into another. I have my own guidelines for allowing adjustments and or acknowledging a formation transition.

To each his own, but I will always plot the pattern on the smallest time interval reasonable. And pan back if need be to get a better overall view. Of course, do what works for you best. I always use semi-log charts and others do not...it is always a matter of choice.

I have found semi-log charts superior for charting formations and trend lines. IMO

Bottom line, do what works best for you.
