True, buying the stock itself would be more bullish, but also more costly.
The only problem is, if the stock really was stuck in the mud and going nowhere, you wouldnt really want it at that price...if you'd sold the put a year or so out...if it was only a month or so out, then sure, if you get it on a downtrend and its a msft or csco (or maybe a dell) that's ok.

Well folks my drama is over again, yesterday I freaked out because my portfolio was going down when the naz was up almost 100, today mine is up when the naz is going down, so who knows.
Guess I have to stop the short term trading.
Guess I have to stop emoting over the moves, especially when they are expected...and I still expect more downturn for a while.
Eventually we'll have our bull market back and maybe eventually I'll be able to stop working for someone else.
But not yet.
Hope everyone who is working for him/herself is doing fine!
