Actually, campaign finance deregulation should be a big cause for the Democrats, as hundreds of millions could flow to Democrat candidates from Hollywood and the plaintiffs' bar. Bill Gates, if politically motivated in a particular year, could turn around an election with his contributions. I agree with the full disclosure folks, but I would go even further. I would require each incumbent Congressman to report publicly every phone call and visit from a lobbyist concerning pending legislation. There's nothing wrong with this--they are our employees, and we have a legitimate interest in knowing how they spend their day. And sunlight is the best disinfectant.
