Hi Bobby. " does an economic union also include defense union? "....
Never thought of that but I would guess yes and if so what does this do to NATO.
Your mention of defense got me thinking of when I was a
kid and the great fear was Germany/Japan taking over the world and we all looked to the west ( USA ) to save us all. Then the Soviet Union became the big threat to the west
and again we looked to the USA. I can still remember the fear I felt of being taken over by a foreign power and having to live by their laws. In any case the USA won the so called cold war without the use of military power and I think it was economic power that won.
So now that the USA is the worlds only real military superpower and the US$ controls most of the worlds economies I now find myself sometimes fearing the power of the USA and if I feel this way ( and I live over hear ) I can only wonder if other countries feel as I did years ago
that fear of being taken over by a foreign country and living
by their laws.
The United States of Europe or the Asian countries could never win a war of military force against the USA however
they do stand a good chance of winning a economic war
with the USA and to me it looks like that is exactly what is going on now.?? The Euro, Yen, Gold. Hope the USA still has all their gold or should I say taxpayers gold.
Take care
Lorne
