Tony,

What's your idea on when the Y2K FUD might be petering out

After the collapse of civilisation and an extended period of barbarianism, industrialised society will begin to rise again.

How was that for FUD?

Tony,
We have to wait to see if the perception becomes the reality. If it doesn't and things aren't as bad as you think then the low will likely come before the end of the year. When the coast is clear I would think a major rally will start in January or even before...
If the perception becomes the reality, a lot of turmoil, the economy slows then then possibility of a recession looms and the low may not occur this year but next.
You may have more insight into this than I, if everything is overblown I expect you to have loaded up on depressed stocks of companies wrongly accused. It won't be that hard. The exact bottom will be much harder to find. I suggest using TA and taking your best shot.
INTC, DELL, JDSU, SUNW, EMC, CSCO, LU, even IBM are on my list among others...Perhaps you have some suggestions in the tech area...

Jim
