Regarding the recent posts - 2 observations, FWIW: I, too, have been unable to determine whether some comments are in jest. It's sometimes so difficult to read a person correctly when our only exposure to them is the written word. May I suggest that we use the "<gg>" or ":-)" when joking around particularly when strong and otherwise inflammatory words are contained in our messages? I realize some do not like emoticons, but it would be a courteous way to avoid misunderstandings or tons of off topic posts to clarify the intention of the poster. Secondly: I do not intend this to be insulting or as an attempt to 'take the air out of anyone's sails' and it's not directed toward anyone specifically. However, I wonder why there is so much preoccupation with whether management has incorporated the ideas from the thread in their recent marketing announcement? I believe we're all aware of Russ and John's enthusiastic involvement with soccer and basketball, and how the "Go2Net" name was likely intended as an intentional double entendre when they started the company, right? I am not implying that Go2Net would not necessarily be gleaning the 'pulse' from the shareholders by reading this or other threads or that they might not find some of the ideas to be engaging and highly suitable for incorporation into the company's operations and plans. I simply find it difficult to imagine that the company hangs on every word that's spoken here as seems to be purported. I have nothing against shareholder input and think it's warranted and needed, but I do have a concern regarding the idea that the company would be relying on ideas from the thread to the extent that's been mentioned here. I am not comfortable with the notion that the latest marketing blitz arose entirely or partly from the thread as I would hope and expect that it was in the works for some time. The sports theme, to me, seems clearly an expected play <g> on words given what I mentioned above regarding the name that was chosen for the company. So, all egos aside <g>, I trust that Russ and the crew have a firm grasp of the company's needs and direction and always will keep the shareholders' in mind as they lead the company forward. This is one of the most intelligent, motivated, and highly talented threads that I've seen on SI so I hope no one takes my comments negatively.
