Jim Re: "I think DELL will likely get close to $40B by 2003, and could hit $50B - as long as they put substance behind the promises, something they have been good at doing in the past"

Actually those numbers look pretty conservative. If Dell grows revenue by 30% annually, by 2003 they should hit about $74B!!

1999 = 26B
2000 = 33.8B (26B x 1.3)
2001 = 43.9B (33.8B x 1.3)
2002 = 57B (43.9B x 1.3)
2003 = 74B (57B x 1.3)

The lowest projected growth in revenues I've seen so far is 30% over the next 3-5 years. Am I missing something hers? Are these estimates too rosy? ASnyone have ant thoughts.
Cheers
Alohal

Jim -
It is hard to justify your lack of "substance" issue

I said just the opposite - here's my words again -

"as long as they put substance behind the promises, something they have been good at doing in the past"

I don't mind arguing with you but it's harder when we already agree... <GG>

BTW I said in an earlier post that they could hit $50B in that time by maintaining 40% growth - I think that is a high side estimate but doable... 30% seems more likely to me.
