Truedog; I have no problem with your personal opinion at all. There are many who believe as you do. I simply wanted to call you as a Christian to examine WHY you believe what you believe... which you still have not done. I could care less also about being popular with anyone other than God.

On that note, DCF, as far as the wife thing goes - it is better that you should gouge out your eyes than they keep them, should they offend God... often in the bible, and more frequently in life, we are called upon to not listen to those we love, but rather keep focussed on God. But also remember that you can be wrong as well. If you believe she is speaking in Christ in order to teach you God's way then by all means, listen up! (but being told "don't eat this" and then having someone say "here ya go, nice tasty serving" are easily identifiable contradictions(by someone who knows the difference between good and evil)).

Truedog ..maybe the Bible would help in this discussion

Psalms 22:10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

Psalms 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies

They are called "wicked" before birth !!!

Isaiah 49:5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

Romans9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

God could not hate Esau for his own sin as he was not yet born.

God could not hate an Innocent that is unjust !

God hated Esau in "ADAM" the imputed and inherited guilt.

God loved Jacob in "Jesus" the Last Adam.

Soveriegn Election of God's Grace.

Hope these verses clear this up for you .
