my guess is earnings will be important, but not nearly as important as the conference call... it's imperative they give clear direction or i think the street is going to be a little upset.

SI, there was a posting yesterday re the new company, Zhone, established by Ascend's heavy hitters, Mory Ejabat, Jeannette Symons and Bob Dahl. They are about to receive $500MM in new funding from major investors for the purpose of acquisitions, and a major announcement regarding their first was to be made today but was scrubbed at the last minute since, it's rumored, the parties could not come to terms. Per RedHerring, the target company has heavy expertise in fiber optics. Hmmmmmmm... And that same story indicates that Zhone is advertising for employees not just in Oakland but in Westlake Village, CA and in the Boston area. Gee, Ascend had facilities in each or nearby. Who else does - how far is Chatsworth from Westlake Village? Not very. Hmmmmmmmm... if only! See zdii.com Dee Jay

I personally think that the Company must provide more clarity on their start-uops, their products, their strategies, amd their OA plans. It would be nice to introduce the new OA CEO. this Company's problems stem from its opaque nature. No one believes them that is a credible analyst. that needs to change.

Hi Sector, Well the Littleton field trip is all set up: 9:30 Thursday 10/28.. Thanks for calling 'em to let them know we would be making contact.. Seem like nice folks When she asked, I told 'em we wanted to see everything, and in particular: Customer Service operations,Test Operability Lab (PISTOL), and Red C product (which is being developed there)... also we may get to talk with the CEO... I asked if Charlottes Web had arrived yet: said she was the wrong person to ask.. (she either didn't know or wasn't talking) I will be working up a list of questions/issues to explore. If there is anything specific you or anyone else would like us to either look for, or ask, please let me or KLH know... If I need some help with my homework - I won't be shy .. ;) see ya s
