Ericsson and Telexis Announce 3G Trials With WCDMA and
Wireless Video Technologies-3G Cellular Networks Will let
Customers Take Video Wherever They go

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Ericsson Canada and Telexis Corporation have
signed an agreement to test and demonstrate a Telexis wireless
video monitoring application using WCDMA technology and data rates
of up to 50 times the speed of technology used today.

The new technology will allow wireless users to receive video
wherever they go. Possible applications for mobile video are
endless - virtually anyone using a cellular phone can receive live
video on a laptop computer from remote locations in the coverage
area. Emergency organizations such as police, ambulance and fire
can improve response mechanisms; construction companies can manage
projects at remote construction sites; transportation departments
can provide wireless users with up-to-the-minute traffic
conditions; and media or news crews can instantly transmit video
information back to news editors. The transformation of business
to business and personal communications by mobile data will be
broadened with mobile video, as data is enhanced with powerful
video information.

Trials will be performed at Ericsson's Next Generation Systems
Labs in Montreal, the world's first facility to implement WCDMA
technology using existing PCS frequencies. The Telexis remote
video monitoring application will be used to illustrate Ericsson
wireless technology at the GSM Association 42nd Plenary which will
be held in Montreal on October 19-22, 1999.

Ericsson and Telexis will continue to cooperatively develop, test
and promote third generation wireless applications at Ericsson's
Next Generation Systems Labs.

Pat:

Amongst all the doom and gloom surrounding NN, at least one of our holdings is on fire JDSU up 6 11/16 on the day.

J.P. Morgan raised their 12-month target to $170.00 US.

Now if we can only get a positive quarter from NN. I am little discouraged by the direction of the stock the past 4 weeks, hopefully we see some encouraging signs in the next two weeks.

Regards

Rob
