DSL is supposedly alot more secure than cable modems

There have been many long winded discussions about this, but in summary I'll say that the security issues are very similar. The single difference is that with DSL it is a little harder to physically tap into the wire.

Did you guys know there was supposedly a situation where DSL customers were able to view the files on the computers of other DSL customers?
Eric

No. You are being fooled. Yes, I know that you think phone line is not being shared. An easy way to help yourself understand is to use your office network as an example - can you steal other user's data at the physical level of the wire? There is an article talked about three area people being fooled by the anti-cable camp. I couldn't find it, but basically. They are:

1. DSL is more secured.
2. DSL is faster.
(Both to make you think phone lines is not shared for data.)
3. @home has to bundle Excite service. (Oh, AOL is so good at this one.)
