Pat and Thread-Today was my first cc for VARL and wanted to share my overall impressions for comment and feedback from some of the older (in terms of investment) players. Sherman is impressively forthcoming and obviously for a "conservative" fellow,very sanguine about the coming quarter and next year. He appears to me to have been burned in the past by letting expectations get ahead of chronology and is trying to be very conservative concerning the ramp of the subscriber line. My impression was that we could see orders for additional manufacturing equipment by mid-year. The CIBC Oppy Sherman was out of touch to say the least. Pat, you should give him a tutorial on LMDS! Certainly Stanford/NN should become a big grower for VARL next year and I listened to the Netro cc and they were also quite bullish about growth worldwide for their product line. Does anybody have price points for the up-converters for LMDS and the other broadband components for Netro? Who is placing the "soon-to-be-released" LMDS order? Great cc and forward look!
