The NYTimes writer was not positive about IBM's earnings LAST QUARTER. The writer didn't see such a big deal but Wall Street did and the stock rallied.

Company is in trouble with its PC business. I don't follow IBM. I had shares in retirement account but when IBM pre-warned about earnings I dumped them and invested in another company which looks like it will be a better investment for me.

I had not really wanted to invest in IBM after I had read that article last quarter but I did anyway. So glad I got out of IBM when I did. I took a small loss but have made it back on paper even after today's downturn in the market.
