Jane was eminently practical. Although I could find no direct reference to unbleached muslins, I did find this which I believe you and coby and I might identify with quite a bit: Composition seems to me impossible with a head full of joints of mutton and doses of rhubarb. and You know how interesting the purchase of a spongecake is to me. THere are also several mentions of her heavy wine drinking that endeared her to me immediately. I am now more likely to read Mansfield Park in the near future.
