I cleared close to $120K selling intel Jan 70 puts - I'm pretty comfortable that the stock won't be put to me now. This was just too good an opportunity to pass up.

The Nov 22.5s are purely a bet on the earnings report - if they are OK then I would be surprised if the stock is still under 23 by November expiration. But who knows... That part was $30K.

On the other hand I can't believe that we will still be in the tank in January. The company is too big, too healthy and the management has too much incentive to perform. For another $60K I'm willing to place the bet.

Let's see (he says, sipping his scotch and trying not to think about what he will say to his wife if she asks about the money from the Intel put sale) - If CPQ is at 30 in January... even if I lose the Nov calls, that's $500K...
(takes another sip, thinks about last January...)
