Richard, the MM might have crossed these. That would indicate to me that the assumption of manipulation to allow Canadian shorters to cover is probably false. There simply is a lot of shares out there. Maybe the funding in the last year is a kind of a floorless and since they do not report, we simply do not know it. In case of a floorless, the bandits would not mind giving away shares (nopt too much but at critical junctions when stubborn bids needs to be removed) at lower prices since they expect such an action to lower their cost quite drastically.
