Would you bet all your money on it? Certainly IBM looks cheap, but it is cheap for good reasons. IBM appears to have a whole lot of company specific problems to deal with in the short-term, plus their mainframe demand is dropping like a rock due to Y2K. Certainly, IBM is one of those companies that has a good chance of turning things around, but large companies move slowly and there's just too much short-term + long-term uncertainties.

I'm more worried about will they be able to meet Dec quarter number or will they have to guide the street down again?

I would just stick to the strong stocks for now and wait until the time is right for IBM.
