Satyam Online launches shopping mall-Bargain Bazzar. bargainbazaar.satyamonline.com satyamonline.com Chennai (FE-10/22/99) Chennai SatyamInfoway's portal SatyamOnline.com has launched an Internet shopping channel called BargainBazaar@SatyamOnline , which has over 1,000 product categories. Claiming it as the largest shopping complex in the Indian cyberworld, a release from Satyam Infoway said that there are over 7,500 retailers on the new site, mostly from Delhi. The products range from gifts, household appliances and shoes to readymade garments and others. The shopping mall is soon expected to cover other cities also. Bargain Bazaar also features additional features such as 'Barter Deal', where the user can post classifieds for buying or selling goods and 'Bazaar ki Khabar' gives out the most happening news on a given day. With the number of Internet subscribers expected to top 1.5 million by the end of 2000, shopping spends on the Internet is pegged at more than $160 million in 2001, the release said.
