I don't know the exact products that LSI makes for Sun. But one time somebody told me that for 0.18um, LSI has a lot of design-in there. Also, I was told that LSI lost some business for 0.25um at places like CSCO (LU and IBM very strong competitors). But that LSI has a good 0.18um process. Now with FPGA, hopefully they can get more than their fair share of business starting Jan '00.

One thing I was really excited about was their balance sheet - absolutely solid for funding both short term smaller acquisitions and long term building the next fab without going out to market for more funds and diluting our holdings.

To me $100 long term (over the next two years before the correction hits) is a done deal. Now it's how much over that can we see. With CDMA and drive-on-chip, future looks pretty good.

BTW, that drive-on-chip has the capability of ramping like madness when it takes off. If Sony PSI at 20m/yr is high volume, hard d at >100m units/yr TAM can be huge overnight.
