Vitas: I went back and checked for post to me and noticed I missed one from you. Here "is" what I am seeing...

One of My WOW Day Trader Combination Charts (My OMC, The TYX, XAU & DYX) Weekly Semi-Log Chart.

It has been obvious that the OEX/SPX has been in a downtrend since July of this year. The OEX/SPX is a crossbreed of the both the NYA and NASDAQ as it contains issues from both exchanges. So the OEX/SPX represents a middle of the road Index for the Overall Market per the major Indexes. As others can not follow my OMC except when I post it, the OEX/SPX can be used to help filter out the noise generated when the NYA and COMPX diverge. And, one can not ignore the influence of the futures related to the SPX.

The VGY (Value Line Geometric Index) is a representation of the over all market with out the weighting bias of the large cap issues as with other major indexes. As posted many times on the MDA Thread and my updates on the original MDA Web Site and my current Road Kill page, I have pointed out the top in April 98 of this Index.

It is obvious the general market has been in a major correction since April 98. I expect the major weighted Indexes to follow to the downside before the correction is over. If I am correct and my OMC Index is to come back well inside its multi-decade rising trading channel, the market as measured by the Indexes is in for a strong move down, soon! I believe I have already seen the top in my OMC and that an acceleration of the move down will start before the end of the year and could start at anytime.

However, it is possible for another spike up in the major Indexes, but the risk/reward ratio has greatly increased for the buy and hold investor, IMO. For the quick and nimble there is always opportunity in volatility. But one should reduce exposure to risk capital only at this time!

Regards,
LG
