Disconcerting is right. Very. To me, all of those objects are priceless; as valuable as tho they came from another planet's civilizations.

I don't know much about the Northern and Coast Indians; the only area of real study was the SW USA. My interest in the NW Coast is growing. I should REALLY get into it while I live here. (Duh.)

One nice thing about the Smithsonian ~ the windows all have glass, and the snow can't get in. Seriously, they do have an incredible collection, and it's taken care of. I would love it if you guys ever come and visit me, and we could go to the Smithsonian together. Seeing it through your eyes, or Paul's eyes, or Lather's eyes, or Freddie's eyes, etc., etc., etc., would be wonderful.

Chris' brother is a Civil War buff, last time he visited we went to Harper's Ferry and Antietam/Sharpsburg together, and walked around the battlefields, and he explained things to us, it was much better than doing it on our own.

I'll put you up in the spare bedroom.
