Susan and Autumn -- wonderful insights on a dilemma we all share ..my first "runner" was EGGS ..my eyes were as big as saucers when I saw it run all day, up 13 (had bought the previous day) ...it built by confidence so much a few days later I bought 2000 shares of FORE and watched it sink, day after day without having the courage to pull the trigger...thinking, well EGGS went up, FORE will too! (no kidding, that's what I was thinking many moons ago..) Well, I gave back all my profits on EGGS and was so deep underwater with FORE I couldn't sleep...my hub knew about my purchase (at the high) and secretly bought some on his way to work that morning...I sold weeks later @ 10 (it's nadir,losing $37K, and he held until it was bought out about a year later, pocketing a handsome profit)... ..doesn't hurt to recall these memories from time to time ..now, when I sit at my computer at night and read all the helpful posts from Gemmers, I feel I'm in a classroom gathering the psychological tools so valuable to successful trading ..and I can do it all in my nightie! <ggg>
