Absolutely GZ,

I have found the VIX to be very helpful in my trading,

buying high, and selling low...works <g>

Regards,

nextrade!

GZ,

I have a combined indicator in which I add certain charts together including VIX into an Excel spreadsheet. Then I copy it into a MetaStock primary chart plot and use all my MetaStock tools on it.

Today, I got another sell on it and it is about to go negative. Although I have only data back to June of this year, it is relatively easy to tell when to buy and sell. I will not buy puts for another day or two since the markets tend to go up a day or two after today's signal... or at least they have since June (NOT a good statistical sample!)
