TOKYO, Oct 22, 1999 (Asia Pulse via COMTEX) -- Applied Materials Japan Inc said Thursday that it has developed RTP (rapid thermal processing) equipment that provides faster speeds needed for 0.13-micron-and-finer next-generation semiconductor fabrication technologies.

The RTP annealing equipment offers a heating speed of 250 degrees per second and a cooling speed of 90 degrees per second, as well as high-accuracy temperature control.

It also provides uniform, continuous wafer processing for increased yields.

AMJ plans to begin shipments next July. (Nikkei)
