RE: Balance between exploration and financial concerns. Problem is, it appears all the analysts, and the brokers, and a lot of shareholders with a lot of shares bought at higher levels disagree with you, because of the shareprice drop. Short of finding that big gem in Brazil, which would require enormous luck and a lot of horseshoes up managements asses, nothing will drive that share price up in the near term except the prospect of increased earnings from South Africa through diamonds and/or platinum. Market sentiment for this stock is far over in the "suck" category, so even favorable production news in SAf may result in little more than a short term blip in the shareprice followed by another downward trend until production starts and the market can get real numbers, instead of managements numbers that seem to have led analysts to overestimate the profitability of current production and earnings. The market no longer seems to believe in what the present management of the "little stock that could" says. Calling for more exploration now(except production related in Marsfontein, Klipspringer and Messina) in light of the steady erosion in the balance sheet and income statement can only help the JV partners SUF has in the NWT, Australia and Brazil. I feel that is the real reason some of you would throw caution to the wind at this time. Your main shareholding is in the junior partners of SUF, not in SUF at all. I will say I have a big whack of SUF, and a equal whack of shares in Canabrava. Perhaps the rest of you can declare your interests as well to let the hundreds of people reading these threads know where your interests truly lie. We are here for a balanced discussion of the issues affecting SUF. A balance between treacle and rot. Only that will allow us the possibility of making an informed investment decision. Just a hamsters thoughts.
