It just seems that the underwriters open IPO as ever increasing prices. The current trend of IPO is that companies offer a very small percentage of its stock and keep the float small so it can be pushed to the moon. Then after the restricted period, they started gradually selling the over-hyped stock to the public. Many stocks crash after the insiders unload and become billionares without making a dime in profit. I would say that this is the worst kind of practice. The way to stop this is to extend the restricted period from 6 months to 2-5 years so the insiders can focus on developing the company rather than making a quick killing at the public's expense.
