Gary,
Well yes and no. From what I can gather, MRVC is positioning themselves to take advantage of last mile technologies being deployed today. And a few of MRVCs products do actually drop right into the access category.

But mainly from what I gather they are positioning themselves to take advantage of the bandwidth explosion going on in access technologies(HFC/Cable, xDSL, wireless, etc). I believe MRVC wants to be right on the other side of the last mile. They are involved with products for the metro market. And their version of the Redback product actually drops right into the telco COs(I'm assumming) to help manage this bandwidth explosion. IMHO, the right moves.

But it is difficult (at least for me) to figure out which product goes where. MRVC should coordinate their website so it's much easier to figure out what market each of their products is targeted for. I know they are involved in access, transport, switching/routing, but I get confused when reviewing their websites to figure out what product is for what, and who their target customer is for that product. Their home page starts off right, but from there it rapidly gets confusing. They should copy a CSCO, NT, TLAB website in displaying their product portfolio.

Anyway, just my $.02 while awaiting Q3 CC. It should be an interesting one. I hate to ask this question (but even this is hard to find on the website), but can someone post/repost the CC phone number or url.
Thanks,
MikeM(From Florida)
