Well folks, the time has come once again. We are on the brink of a new season of NBA basketball. With each passing day, my heart quickens with anticipation of the madness that is yet to come. Soon. Very soon.

Ever since the mighty Spurs claimed the championship in the Spring, my life has been devoid of meaning. I walked from place to place as a stranger in a strange land, as if falling into an endless void of emptiness. No one to talk to about Kobe's latest awe-inspiring dunk, or the demise of the Sonics, or Barkley's latest politically incorrect rantings, or the virtuous life of A.C. Green, or that thing on Rasheed Wallace's head, or who would win in a fight between Sir Charles and Anthony Mason. Days would turn into weeks, and weeks into months. I strove to find meaning in the world around me, but I knew that in the end, only one thing would cure my ephemeral existence - the NBA.

Now we are on the brink of a new season, or i should rather say a new beginning, to all that is good and noble. The skies are just a little bit bluer and the birds in the courtyard sing my praise. My loins burn in anticipation and my soul cries out in hope. The time has come once again. Soon. Very soon.
