Chuckles - Re: "The comments from IBM indicate how much trouble Intel may have with Cascades. AMD has the opportunity to kick-butt BIG time."

IBM's comments referred to the 256K L2 cache Cascades - which uses the SAME Coppermine die.

Why haven't all your INTEL CONTACTS told you about the "other" Cascades chips with up to 2 MegaBytes on-chip L2 cache ?

I have "reason" to believe that these have been up and running for a month or so in Intel's "Labs" !

Charles,
"Right now, I think the server chipsets are due
to debut in the next quarter or so from AMD, Alpha, and probably
Compaq. Hotrail seems to be a quarter or two behind them".

I'm reading now that Tyan will have dual Athlon motherboards in Q1...
A major breakthrough for AMD...
You hear anything?
