Mark,

I'm aware it's a loaded comment. I also know that I can never be truly sure if people believe what they are saying or whether they are acting in self-interest at the expense of others. I don't mean my criticisms to be so sweeping. There are lots of rich and powerful people that are highly ethical and decent.

There are some people however, who because of their obvious intelligence and background, I have a tough time believing are telling folks what they really believe. Almost everything they say is either a spin, the most favorable possible interpretation, in a gray area, overlooks all sorts of obvious facts, is right on the borderline of lying, etc..

If we were talking about any of the times in life that people take advantage of each other in a small way, I wouldn't be so upset. But in this case, there is at least some risk that millions of middle class people are going to be financially ruined.

The reckless and promotional attitude of some people is totally irresponsible no matter what they believe. Especially when some of the greatest financial minds in the U.S. come squarely down on the bubble side of the debate. No matter what your view, the enormous risks are just TOO obvious. What makes it worse is that the vested interests of those that annoy me are also very clear.

Perhaps I should tone down my rhetoric a little, but I can't help how I feel on this one.
