Robert, I have primarily invested more recently in Fidelity Select Developing Communications fund rather than pick stocks in the group myself. It's not as exciting as playing the stock picking game but the fund has gone up over 400% since I bought it and I've hardly paid attention to it. Being lazy/dumb sometimes has it's benefits.

There are a few companies that I have in mind, Several years ago I researched Qualcom, Stanford Telecom and a few other companies that had developed capabilities in code division multiple access (CDMA) and other multiplexing technologies. I invested in these companies too soon because although they went up some, they failed to rocket out of the chute as I had expected. So I figured that investors wouldn't catch on got out. Fortunately I invested in the Dev. Com. fund.

If you want to figure out which companies will participate and try to find some that aren't bid to the moon already, here is one article to start. You can search for other related articles at this site and a lot of stuff is available in a web search using the keywords you'll find here: connected.hamquist.com
